Artist Bio and Exhibitions

Self portrait of british artist Emma TS Robinson in the studio, with painted backgrounds

Working mainly in the studio, I create still life photographs, presenting and assembling natural objects, which are carefully arranged and staged for the camera.

My work is inspired by the garden and the informal study of plants as well as wider environmental issues.

Working in series, I explore the objects’ potential as metaphors for wider themes including the transience of  life and memory. I reflect on the cycles of life and the passing of time.

Through the processes of making, arranging, assembling and ultimately photographing, I believe that something of the individual psyche is invested.

My work is thoughtful, precise and delicate.
