Sheds are private spaces, in the way that they are not ‘on show’ and do not need to conform to the usual domestic conventions of tidiness and cleanliness. They often contain things, things that we have an emotional attachment to, and which we have accumulated over the years, spilling over from house/ home. They can be repaired or altered in an ad hoc, rough and ready way which adds to the personal nature of the shed, the sense of ownership and creative expression.
The photos are taken at dusk making use of the low, soft natural light. It is intended that there is a sense of ‘nosing around’, looking for something.
